Environment
For my assignment, I am targeting students
in high school, grades 9-12, who are interested in theatrical stage production. For this module I am focusing on the basics
of designing a stage. Because I have generated my own content by
video presentation, I have been looking for ways to complete the package and
put it online. I was looking for a
simple yet effective means of housing that content and assess what has been
learned. My search took me to a review
of a website called Edmodo, a learning management system that easily allows
teachers to create and add content while creating a means for students to
readily access it. Charlsie V., a teacher from Bonham, Texas gave it a
favorable review and said,
Edmodo is appropriate for use with
all levels of students, especially grades 4 and up…it allows students to work
individually and collaboratively…it is a teaching tool to help streamline
classroom routine but also provides teachers the opportunity to teach
responsible interaction via digital means, reinforcing good digital
citizenship.
In addition to being able to deliver
content, make assignments, assign polls, and give quizzes, it can also create
parent involvement in the course. Parents
of enrolled students can see how their child is progressing and receive communications
from the teacher in regards to upcoming projects and overdue assignments. To sum it all up, the interface of this
learning system is sleek, contemporary and easy to use for both the teacher and
the student. The ease of use in this
system should allow students to learn without any technical difficulty barriers
and provide a social environment that is becoming key in planning student
activities while allowing for individual growth.
